drawing club - Marie Antoinette

I did a little digital life painting this morning. I liked my initial sketch but the colors on the stage and the model were too cool overall so I decided to shift the colors for this painting. I ended up choosing a color scheme from a Joe Sorren painting to give it more warmth. The red shadow behind her was originally her own cast shadow but after I removed the high couch back behind her I decided to leave it in because it started to take on a life of its own... now I see it as the silhouette of someone sneaking up behind her.

Quick painting studies from Japanese Idol DVDs. I picked up a solo comic by Scott Damion yesterday that really inspired me to loosen up and play with proportions more so hopefully you will start seeing more exciting changes in my work.
